Cancún.- La mañana de este martes, un trágico accidente conmocionó a los habitantes de la región 94 de Cancún. Un pepenador, que recolectaba materiales reciclables para sobrevivir, fue atropellado en la calle 113, cerca de la esquina con la calle 28, por un conductor que huyó del lugar sin prestar auxilio.
El incidente ocurrió alrededor de las 7:00 a.m. Vecinos que presenciaron el hecho alertaron al número de emergencias 911, describiendo a la víctima como un hombre de entre 40 y 45 años que utilizaba un carrito de supermercado para recolectar latas, botellas y otros materiales reciclables.
Según los primeros informes, el atropellamiento habría sido provocado por la imprudencia del automovilista. A pesar de la pronta llegada de los paramédicos del Escuadrón de Respuesta a Urgencias Médicas (ERUM) de la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, confirmaron que el hombre había fallecido debido a las graves lesiones sufridas.
Personal de la Fiscalía General del Estado se encuentra investigando el caso para esclarecer los hechos y dar con el responsable.
Este lamentable suceso ha generado indignación entre los vecinos de la región, quienes exigen justicia para la víctima y solicitan mayor seguridad vial en la zona para prevenir tragedias similares en el futuro.
