COZUMEL.- Un menor pudo perder la vida por asfixia tras atragantarse con comida, pero gracias a la rápida intervención del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cozumel, el menor logró sobrevivir al incidente.
El suceso ocurrió alrededor de las 5:30 de la tarde, cuando el padre del menor acudió desesperado a la estación de bomberos para pedir ayuda. Según un comunicado emitido por la corporación, el bebé tenía las vías respiratorias completamente obstruidas por alimento.
De inmediato, los bomberos aplicaron una maniobra de desobstrucción para liberar las vías respiratorias del menor. Tras estabilizarlo, paramédicos de Protección Civil valoraron su estado de salud y confirmaron que ya no corría peligro. Minutos después, el pequeño fue entregado a su padre.
El caso generó reacciones en redes sociales. José Luis Chacón, alcalde de Cozumel, elogió la labor de los bomberos: “¡Reconocemos y agradecemos profundamente la valentía, dedicación y compromiso de nuestros bomberos, guardianes de la vida y la seguridad de nuestra comunidad!”, escribió en su cuenta oficial.
